In this workshop you will decorate your pots with wax resist and glaze them (choosing from transparent, white, yellow or torqoise glazes). We will pack the raku kiln and fire it. You can bring two pots for this firing.

In this workshop we will fire your pieces in our raku kiln, thereafter you will decorate your pots using horsehair, feathers and sugar, and Obvara. You can bring four pots for this firing.

Creating with Coloured Clay
Take a break from decorating and glazing your pots. At this workshop you will discover a myriad of ways to work with coloured clays as a way to create beautiful and surprising surfaces.
In this workshop, we will explore the following methods with coloured clay:
- Adding stains and oxides to clay
- Testing colour clay
- Applique, inlay and nerikomi
- Creating a bowl
This workshop can accommodate beginners, as well as experienced potters.

Monoprinting on clay
In this workshop we will demo various ways to monoprint on clay, incorporating silk screens and clay chalk. You will have the opportunity to experiment and explore this technique. You will make your final prints on five tiles which we will glaze and fire for you.

Photolithography: Transfer images onto clay
Discover the fascinating intersection of photography, printmaking and ceramics in this two-hour hands-on workshop.
You’ll be guided through the photolithography process — a technique for transferring photographic images directly onto clay surfaces. We’ll also introduce monoprinting, showing you how colour can be layered with your photographic image to create unique, richly textured pieces. We’ll also show you how to glaze your bisque-fired photographic images to minimise smudging and achieve the best results.
The workshop will begin with a full demonstration before you experiment with the processes yourself. You’ll have the choice of working on tiles or a cylindrical form.
For those without access to a kiln, we will glaze and fire your finished pieces for you.
